It feels almost like a Canadian fall with the sudden drop in temperatures! But we warmly welcome new diplomatic representatives to Switzerland as well as new members of the CSCC!
We are also very excited to open registration for the rest of our events in 2025!
News from the Canadian Embassy
The chamber would like to extend a warm welcome the new Ambassador of Canada to Switzerland and Lichtenstein, Jean-Paul Lemieux.
Ambassador Lemieux joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1997. At Headquarters, he has served as director general, assignments and executive management; executive director, assignments and pool management; director, South America bilateral relations; special advisor to the Free Trade Agreement Promotion Task Force; and director of the Trade Commissioner Service Planning and Client Service Support Division. He has previously served in Geneva, where he was accredited to the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and in Brussels, where he was counselor (commercial) and head of section at the Mission to the European Union.
With the Embassy's trade commissioner service, we continue to foster networks and economic relations between our nations. New in the role of Senior Commissioner is Adam Jacques, who will also serve as a non-voting member of the CSCC board. Adam is assuming the role that Nadja Schauer previously filled. We would like to warmly thank Nadja for her service, judicious advice, and leadership on the CSCC board.
We look forward to collaborating with Ambassador Lemieux and Adam to continue building lasting ties between Canada and Switzerland!
We had the pleasure of meeting Ambassador Lemieux and Adam Jacques in Geneva on October 3rd for an informal meet and greet at the Salon Dufour in the Sheraton Les Bergues Hotel.

Senior Coordinator, Sales Operations and Enablement, Beckman Coulter Diagnostics
Jaime's professional journey includes positions in the private banking sector, a decade long tenure at Thomson Reuters Markets SA,and, for the past five years, a role in Sales Operations and Enablement at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics.
Jaime has been an Individual Member of the CSCC since March 2025.
Why did you join the CSCC?
As a Canadian with family and friends living in Canada, I felt a strong sense of responsibility to contribute when I recognized the growing need for our country to diversify its trade relationships beyond the United States. In today’s increasingly unpredictable world, it’s up to each of us to take meaningful action and create a positive impact wherever possible.
Becoming a member of the Canadian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce (CSCC) has been a truly rewarding experience. The Chamber organizes high-value events focused on the economy, culture, and professional networking—bringing together Canadians living in the greater Geneva and Lausanne areas [as well as Zurich and Zug -Ed.], as well as neighboring regions of France.
I wholeheartedly encourage all Canadians to get involved and play an active role in supporting the growth and resilience of our country—even from abroad. Personally, I hope to contribute by introducing select Swiss companies, particularly from strategic sectors, to opportunities for investment in the Canadian economy.
